Why does this GIF look better than the free in-browser one?⌄
FFmpeg runs a two-pass encode: pass one scans your whole clip to build the ideal 256-color palette, pass two dithers every frame against it. Browser encoders must build the palette from a few sampled frames, so gradients and dark scenes band more. The cloud version also accepts formats browsers can't decode.
What settings make the smallest GIF?⌄
Width and frame rate dominate size: 320 px at 10 fps is a good default for chats and docs; 480-640 px at 15 fps for showcase quality. Keep clips under ~10 seconds — GIF is an inefficient format and grows fast.
How long is my video kept?⌄
Uploads and results are wiped automatically within 30 minutes of the job finishing. Only your session's signed token can access them.
