Frequently asked questions
What does a +6dB or -6dB change actually sound like?⌄
Roughly speaking, +6dB doubles the perceived loudness and -6dB halves it — a useful rule of thumb (each ~10dB step is roughly a 2× perceived change) when picking how much to adjust.
Will boosting the volume introduce clipping/distortion?⌄
It can, if the source audio is already close to peak level — a large positive gain on already-loud audio may clip. Start with a smaller boost (+3dB or +6dB) and listen to the preview before committing to a larger one.
What happens to my file?⌄
The upload and the adjusted file are deleted automatically within 30 minutes. Jobs are only reachable with your session's signed token.
