Frequently asked questions
How quiet does a section need to be to count as "silence"?⌄
The detector uses a fixed, conservative threshold (roughly -40dB) tuned for typical spoken-word recordings, so genuinely quiet-but-intentional audio (like a soft musical passage) is much less likely to be mistaken for silence than a true pause or dead air.
Will this remove brief natural pauses between sentences too?⌄
Only gaps longer than about a third of a second are trimmed, so normal speech pacing and short breaths between sentences are left alone — it targets genuinely dead air, not every micro-pause.
What happens to my file?⌄
The upload and the cleaned-up result are deleted automatically within 30 minutes. Jobs are only reachable with your session's signed token.
