No — cropping happens entirely in your browser with the Canvas API. The image never leaves your device, which makes it safe for IDs, documents and private photos.
Which ratio should I use for social media?⌄
1:1 for Instagram feed and profile pictures, 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails and Twitter/X cards, 9:16 for Stories/Reels/TikTok, 4:3 for classic photos. The circle preset exports a transparent PNG — ideal for avatars.
Does cropping reduce quality?⌄
No re-encoding happens beyond the crop itself: pixels inside your selection are copied 1:1. PNG output is lossless; JPEG output uses quality 92, visually identical for photos.
