Stopwatch, countdown timer and Pomodoro — free, no install

00:00:00.00

Why a simple timer beats a phone app

A timer is the smallest productivity tool that actually changes behavior: a visible clock creates urgency, laps make training measurable, and the Pomodoro rhythm protects focus from the open-ended workday. Phone timer apps bury these behind installs, accounts and ads — a web page does the same job the instant it opens.

What this tool does

  • ⏱️ Stopwatch with centisecond precision and unlimited laps
  • ⏳ Countdown timer with a sound alarm when time runs out
  • 🍅 Pomodoro cycles (25/5 by default, every 4th break long) with adjustable lengths
  • 📴 Works offline once loaded — no account, no tracking

When to use it

  • Timing runs, workouts and cooking with lap splits
  • Exams and presentations with a hard time limit
  • Deep-work sessions in Pomodoro rhythm

Privacy: there is nothing to upload — timing happens locally in your browser and no account exists to track.

How timing works

The display refreshes on a fast interval but elapsed time is always computed from Date.now() differences, which keeps it accurate when the tab is throttled in the background. Countdown and Pomodoro advance once per second off the same clock; the alarm is a short WebAudio tone synthesized locally — no audio files to load.

Why time here?

⏱️

Three timers, zero installs

Stopwatch, countdown and Pomodoro live on one page with one-tab switching — no app store, no permissions, no account standing between you and the clock.

🍅

Clock-true, not tick-true

Elapsed time is read off the system clock rather than counted ticks, so background tabs and minimized windows can't silently steal minutes from your session.

A Pomodoro that adapts to you

Focus, short and long break lengths are all adjustable, the cycle dots show where you are in the set, and a long break lands automatically every fourth session.

Frequently asked questions

Does it keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes — the timers measure against the system clock, so switching tabs or minimizing the browser doesn't lose time. The display refreshes when you come back.

Will the alarm sound if the tab is muted or closed?

Keep the tab open and unmuted: the alarm is a browser sound, so a closed tab or a muted site cannot ring. For Pomodoro sessions, pin the tab so you don't lose it.

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

Work in focused 25-minute blocks separated by 5-minute breaks, with a longer 15-minute break every four blocks. You can change all three lengths above — the cycle dots track your progress.
