EXIF Viewer & Remover
See what your photos secretly reveal — GPS location included — and strip it losslessly
Never uploaded — Photos are inspected and cleaned entirely in your browser — they never leave your device, which is exactly what you want from a privacy tool.
How it works
- 1
Drop your photos — each one's metadata is listed instantly, with a red warning if it contains a GPS location.
- 2
Review what would be shared: camera, timestamps, software, coordinates (with a map link).
- 3
Remove metadata per photo or clean everything at once — the clean copies are pixel-identical, just without the data.

Frequently asked questions
What is EXIF data and why should I care?⌄
EXIF is metadata cameras and phones embed in photos: device model, capture time, editing software and often precise GPS coordinates. Sharing an original photo can reveal where you live or work — this tool shows you exactly what a recipient could extract.
Does removing metadata reduce image quality?⌄
Not here. Unlike tools that re-encode the picture (recompressing JPEGs every time), this removes the metadata segments from the file's byte stream directly — the compressed pixel data passes through untouched, byte for byte.
Which formats are supported?⌄
JPEG and PNG — the two formats that actually carry EXIF/textual metadata in practice. Screenshots are usually already clean; camera and phone photos usually are not.
