Social Share Preview

Open Graph + Twitter Card tags with a live Facebook/Twitter-style preview card

Output

Four platforms, one truth about your share card

Facebook, X, LinkedIn and WhatsApp render your OG tags differently — see all four mocks and fix the weakest before publishing.

⚡

One form, two tag sets

Open Graph tags for Facebook, LinkedIn, and Slack and Twitter Card tags for X generate together from one title, description, image, and URL.

🔒

See cards before sharing

Preview cards render the image at 1.91:1 with domain, title, and description, the exact layout users see when the link is shared, before anything goes live.

🎯

Both card variants

Choose summary_large_image for a full-width image or the compact summary card, and the generator emits the matching twitter:card value and tags.

Frequently asked questions

Why generate Open Graph and Twitter Card tags together?

Twitter/X automatically falls back to your Open Graph tags when dedicated twitter:* tags are missing, so real-world share cards are built from one shared set of fields — filling them in separately would just duplicate the same title/description/image twice.

What image size should I use?

1200×630px (a roughly 1.91:1 ratio) is the safe recommended size for "summary_large_image" cards across Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn and Slack — smaller or oddly-cropped images can get cropped unpredictably by each platform.

Is my content uploaded anywhere?

No. The preview is assembled locally from the URL and text you enter; the tool does not fetch your page or report the share anywhere.

What each platform reads

PlatformPrimary sourceImage ratio

X / Twittertwitter:card, else OG fallback2:1 large, 1:1 summary
WhatsAppog:title/image (description often hidden)square-ish crop

Flags undersized images, missing dimension tags (which force re-scrapes) and titles past each network cut-off point.

What Is a Social Share Preview?

Share cards are assembled by platforms, not authors: when a link lands on Facebook, X, LinkedIn or Slack, the network reads Open Graph tags and, on X, Twitter Card tags, then builds the image, title and description box. Missing tags produce the broken card with a bare URL or cropped image, usually found after the campaign went out. This tool emits both tag families from one set of inputs, since X falls back to Open Graph values when its own are absent, and paints a live preview beside the form for judging image and copy first.

One form feeding two tag families

  • 🖼️ Title, description and image each emitted twice, as Open Graph and Twitter properties, from single keystrokes
  • 🔗 Optional page address and site name lines for canonical identity
  • 🗂️ Card switch between large-image and compact summary, defaulting to the showcase style
  • 🏷️ Automatic website type plus the chosen card declaration on every block
  • 📱 Live preview at the wide share ratio with domain, title and description updating as you type

Launches worth previewing first

  • 🚀 A product page about to be shared widely across several networks
  • 📰 An article whose hero image must survive the wide crop intact

Cache behavior nobody warns about

  • 💾 Networks cache card data per URL, so fixes need a refresh via each platform debugger first
  • ✂️ Long titles still truncate inside cards, so brevity here pays off downstream

Everything renders locally from your keystrokes with no fetching and no image uploading, leaving campaign art and copy solely in your hands.
