How PDF pages become editable Word content
- Text layer — glyphs re-flow into paragraphs with font size and bold/italic preserved; columns merge into reading order.
- Tables — ruled regions become real Word tables you can edit cell by cell.
- Images — extracted at original resolution and anchored near their source position.
- What stays behind — form fields, digital signatures and password protection do not carry into DOCX.
Editable paragraphs, not pictures of text
Conversion reconstructs document structure — re-flowed paragraphs, real tables, extracted images — so the DOCX behaves like a file authored in Word.
Editable Text, Not Images
Each PDF page is re-imported by LibreOffice so the result opens as a normal .docx — paragraphs, headings and images you can select, edit and reformat.
Layout Carries Over
Headings, tables and text flow are rebuilt from the PDF's structure rather than flattened into a single image, so reworking the document starts close to the original.

Will the layout stay editable?
Text, paragraphs, tables and images convert into real editable Word elements wherever the PDF's structure allows it — results are best on PDFs that were originally created from a document (not a scanned image).
Does this work on scanned PDFs?
A scanned PDF (a PDF that's really just photos of pages) has no text to extract — you'll want an OCR tool first, then convert the result.
Is my file kept on the server?
No — the upload and the result are both deleted automatically within 30 minutes of the job finishing.

Your file is uploaded over an encrypted connection to our server, converted by LibreOffice, and automatically deleted afterward — nothing is retained. The honest limit: PDF is a fixed-layout format, so complex designs — multi-column text, unusual tables, heavy graphics — may shift when re-imported, and scanned, image-only PDFs convert to pages of images rather than editable text. Text-based PDFs give the best results. Each run costs credits, and a failed job refunds them automatically.
