Big Three — Sun, Moon & Rising
Your Sun, Moon and Rising signs, computed from real astronomy — with an AI reading of what your ‘big three’ says about you.
Frequently asked questions
What is the ‘Big Three’ in astrology?
Your Sun, Moon and Rising (Ascendant) signs. The Sun is your core self and ego, the Moon is your emotional inner world, and the Rising is the mask you wear and how others first see you. Together they give a far richer picture than your Sun sign alone.
How accurate is this calculator?
The signs are computed from real astronomy in your browser: the Sun and Moon longitudes use Jean Meeus' formulae and the Ascendant uses local sidereal time and your birth latitude — validated against known ephemeris values. It's sign-accurate; for exact degrees a professional ephemeris is used, but signs match.
Why do I need my exact birth time and city?
The Rising sign changes roughly every two hours and depends on your latitude, so it needs an accurate birth time and place. The Moon moves about half a degree per hour, so a rough time is usually fine for it. Without a time, we show your Sun and Moon and mark the Rising as unknown.
Is this a prediction of my future?
No. Astrology here is for self-reflection and insight, not fortune-telling. Read your Big Three as a lens for understanding yourself — not as fixed fate.

Why people choose us
Sun, Moon & Rising — The Big Three
Your Sun sign is just the headline. Your Moon sign reveals your emotional core and inner world; your Rising sign is the mask you wear and the first impression you make. Together, they form the astrological Big Three.
Real Meeus-Algorithm Astronomy
Planetary positions are calculated using Jean Meeus's astronomical algorithms — the same formulas used by professional astrology software, not simplified lookup tables.
Birth City Timezone Correction
Enter your birth city and the system automatically looks up your timezone and applies true local time — your Rising sign can change within an hour, so precision matters.
What is the Big Three in Astrology?
The "Big Three" — your Sun sign, Moon sign, and Rising sign (Ascendant) — form the three pillars of your astrological personality. Your Sun sign is your core identity and life force. Your Moon sign, changing every 2-3 days, governs your emotional nature and what you need to feel safe. Your Rising sign, changing every ~2 hours, is your social mask and first impression.
Planetary positions are calculated using Jean Meeus's astronomical algorithms — the same formulas used by professional astrology software. Astrology is best approached as a language for self-reflection: a Gemini Sun with Pisces Moon and Scorpio Rising is a genuinely distinct combination worth understanding on its own terms.
